For walkway areas it is highly recommended that a Premiere type of ice melt be utilized, containing vegetation enhancers/protectors along with additives to help prohibit corrosion to metal, concrete, brick etc. It is also safe for carpet, tile, etc. A cheaper ice melt is not worth it, you get what you pay for, please do not skimp on the ice melt applied, protect your investment!
